Basil Barrett , from Tulsa Ok illustrated the third book

John Mayernick did design and layout.On first two books.

The Turtle Prayer

Lord Help me not to be so slow

Slow to hear you speak to me,

When you tell me to go.

Help me to hear your voice

Each time you speak in my ear

Help me to know that you

Are always very very near.

Lord help me not to hide away

in my little shell.

Help me to know you will protect

me and keep me very well.

Lord I pray you’ll help me know

that even if I’m not very fast.

You will lead me every step

And I won’t come out last.

Help me to know you’ll provide for me

When winter comes along, and snow

covers my ground,

Help me know the spring comes too

With abundance all around.

Lord help me to stick my neck out,

And try things that are new

Like vegetables , and riding bikes

and being more like you .

Listening, obedient, courageous

faithful, trusting and brave.

Little turtles can remind me Lord

Of all these every day.
